Leumeah, NSW – November 4, 2013 – 1800-Blinds retired its two-year-old website in October in favor of an all new one designed to better meet customer needs. The new page launched on 8th October and was produced by Tech Tricks.
Visitors to the site are now greeted by a home page featuring each of the company’s major product categories as well as a contact form for those interested in a callback. Perhaps the most engaging aspect of the new site, however, is its organization of 1800-Blind’s inventory. From the homepage, interested buyers can select a category, choosing between blinds, awnings, roller shutter, plantation shutters, and doors and screens, each of which is broken down further into more specific categories.
Dean Matthews, the managing director of 1800-Blinds alluded to this change when he explained, “We decided to create a new website so we could add much more information online to showcase our range of blinds and products and create an ‘Encyclopaedia of Blinds’ of sorts. This way, people looking for blinds can educate themselves on their uses and functions.” Mathews’ dream was actualized, judging by the extensive options available to site users. Within the “blinds” category alone, there are six subcategories, two of which have even further subcategories.
In addition to viewing detailed descriptions of 1800-Blinds’ products, users can also visit the site to read the company’s blog, learn about promotions, catch up on the latest news, and read more about the company.
1800-Blinds is headquartered at 167 Airds Road in Leumeah, NSW. For more information about its products and services, visit the newly updated www.1800blinds.com.au or call 1-800-254-637.

FirstChoice Bee Removal, a five-year-old bee removal company in North Port, FL has experienced all the ups and downs of launching a new business. We talked with James Willis, the company’s owner, about his experience.
Bee removal is a pretty highly specialized field. How did you get involved in this business?
A lot of research and hands-on experience. I was a residential and commercial builder for more than 22 years, and had plenty of online education, books, and on-the-job training.
That’s a lot of preparation! Did you still run into any unexpected obstacles?
One unexpected obstacle was finding a good web guy. Mike is great and a breath of fresh air. You would be surprised how tough it is to find a “Mike.” We have burned through a lot of money with the wrong people. A mistake we have made is not having respect for the bees! We have had a lot of encounters with them, a lot of running from them, and have found a whole new respect for them!
Were you surprised by the experience of working with the bees?
The biggest surprise was realizing how many bee problems there really are out there. It’s not a problem you would think is as common as it is.
It sounds like you haven’t had much trouble finding customers! How do your market your business?
Ninety percent is online marketing. The internet has made it easier to keep track of all our clients so that, if they call, their info is just a click away. That also helps with travel and our sales leads.
The bee removal business is booming for FirstChoice Bee Removal. For more information, visit www.firstchoicebeeremoval.com.

For our first “Employee in the Spotlight” interview, we spoke with Amy Sassaman, customer service representative at Borsello Landscaping. With her creativity, enthusiasm and passion for her job, we have no doubt that Borsello customers receive first-class service.
What can you tell us about your background and how it got you to where you are today?
Amy Sassaman: When I was growing up, from toddler to young adult, I always had a creative flair. When I was a kid, I would play with finger paints, glitter, ribbons and anything colorful I could get my hands on. In school, I organized and color coated my notebooks, paperwork and pens. I doodled and drew on my homework and even my hands. I took various art classes over the years to discover different techniques and mediums and I always had an eye for symmetry and object placement. In my later years in school I focused on my grades and getting into a good college. I knew that I wanted to do something practical, but still exercise my desire to create.
Did you know exactly what you wanted to do when you first entered college, or did you need time to decide on the right major?
Amy Sassaman: I started my freshman year of college at the University of Delaware with an “undecided” major in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics. I declared “Management” that spring, but after taking several classes I realized that I needed a different direction that would allow me to explore my creative passion. I switched to “Marketing” and found this to be exactly was looking for in a career path: an avenue to use my artistic ability and to directly see the fruits of my labor. In 2011, I proudly graduated with my B.S. in Marketing.
Have you always been in customer service?
Amy Sassaman: I have worked for several local businesses over the last 10 years and have been involved in an array of marketing and advertising campaigns which include: designing promotional material, creating product displays, developing employee sales goals, updating social media sites, and more. Working and going to school helped me decide that I truly enjoy the variety of aspects marketing has to offer and wanted to take it to the next level after graduating.
How long have you been with Borsello Landscaping?
Amy Sassaman: I started working at Borsello Landscaping in March.
Do you enjoy your position so far?
Amy Sassaman: I never thought I would love a job as much as I do working here. It is hard to pick one thing I love most about the company, so I have to say a combination of the people and the environment in the office are the best. When you are treated fairly and with respect, can have an equal mix of fun and seriousness and are given tools to succeed, what’s not to love about your job?
