Local automobile dealership supports program that empowers underprivileged children
Nashville, TN August 29, 2013 Tom Bannen Chevrolet Buick GMC is pleased to announce that it will host the “Meet the Young Artists” Reception on November 25, 2013. The reception is in honor of children residing at Nashville Rescue Mission who have been selected to become photojournalists for “Pictures of Hope.” The “Pictures of Hope” program, created by award-winning author and photojournalist Linda Solomon, is designed to give underprivileged children a unique, memorable and empowering experience.
A Special Event
On August 19, 2013, Ms. Solomon brought her program to the Nashville Rescue Mission, a non-profit that provides affordable housing coupled with supportive services for individuals and families who are coming out of homelessness or are at-risk for becoming homeless.
After a dynamic photography lesson, the children were surprised with digital cameras, courtesy of Ms. Solomon and Mr. Jeff Grossman, General Manager of Tom Bannen Chevrolet. The children were excited to express their hearts, hopes and dreams through images captured with their new cameras.
“Pictures of Hope” Holiday Cards
The childrens’ photos will be used to create holiday greeting cards which will be sold through the Nashville Rescue Mission. All of the proceeds from the “Pictures of Hope” greeting cards will benefit families and children who receive services at the Nashville Rescue Mission.
The “Pictures of Hope” cards will be unveiled to the young photographers at the “Meet the Young Artists” reception and celebration at Tom bannen Chevrolet in November.
Supporting the Community
From Thanksgiving through Christmas, Tom Bannen Chevrolet will give customers who purchase a new Chevrolet a set of “Pictures of Hope” greeting cards. For each car sold, Tom Bannen Chevrolet will also make a donation to Nashville Rescue Mission.
“Tom Bannen Chevrolet Buick GMC is honored to participate with Chevrolet and Linda Solomon’s ‘Pictures of Hope’ program,” said Jeff Grossman, general manager of Tom Bannen. “In life, it is often the simple things we take for granted. The message inside every card reads: ‘Everything begins with a hope and dream.’ We at Tom Bannen Chevrolet Buick GMC wholeheartedly agree, and are excited to take part in this project in our Nashville community with an organization we respect and children we are excited to get to know.”
A National Program
“Pictures of Hope” is traveling to twelve U.S. cities this year. The program allows children living in homeless shelters to express themselves in a way that they may not have the chance to experience otherwise. At each stop along the tour, Solomon provide the children with a digital camera, a photography lesson, and instructions to go forward and shoot images of their hopes and dreams.
Throughout the months of November and December, the children that participate in this program will have a chance to display their work at various “Meet the Young Artist” Receptions.

Programs like me give me more than hope. They show that there are a lot of people out there with true heart.
I cannot stand it when people do not support these kinds of programs. Think of the children!!
